Smiling, Caring and Learning Together on a Journey with God
Sowing the seeds . .
In English this week the children have continued to practise their story telling skills and come up with some great ideas for stories of their own. We look forward to using these plans to help the children write some great stories next week.
In Mathematics the children showed us that they were getting more confident solving addition and subtraction problems in different ways and recording their answers using symbols to help.
In their PE lessons with Miss Chandler over the past few weeks, Oak class have been creating their own Gruffalo dances and have enjoyed watching the results.
Next week they will complete the peg puppets they have designed in DT and see the results of the science investigation they have set up. They are growing cress seeds in different places and in different conditions to see if their predictions are right. If you or somebody you know is doing a bit of gardening and your child is able to help, then that would be a great opportunity for them to consolidate their understanding of plants. They could name the different parts and decide which ones will grow best where.
We look forward to seeing you at our parent consultations next week and having the chance to talk about how your child has settled into Year 1.
