Making puppets
Over the past few weeks, Hawthorn class has been buzzing with creativity as the students delved into an exciting puppet-making project.
The process began with careful planning. Each child drew out their puppet design, deciding on colours, materials, and labelling the various parts they would include. These designs became their blueprint as they moved on to the crafting stage.
Armed with socks, fabric, googly eyes, and plenty of imagination, the students brought their designs to life. Referring back to their initial designs, they carefully attached their chosen materials to their socks.
The end results were absolutely fantastic! To celebrate their hard work, the students visited the Year 2 classes to share their puppets and explain their design process.
To wrap up the project, we had a reflective discussion about their work. They shared what they loved most about their puppets and considered what they might do differently next time to improve their designs.
This puppet-making project has been a wonderful opportunity for Hawthorn class to develop their creativity, problem-solving skills, and teamwork. Well done, Hawthorn class—you should be very proud of your hard work and amazing puppets!
