Welcome to the start of our fiery new topic: Fire, Fire! We’re learning all about the Great Fire of London.

To begin our learning journey, we’ve been busy researching the Great Fire of London using iPads, laptops, and books. We discovered so many fascinating facts about how the fire started, how it spread, and how Londoners fought to stop it.  We learned how wooden houses and strong winds helped the flames spread quickly through the city. It’s incredible to imagine what life was like back then!

We were so lucky to have the Rainbow Theatre company come to visit us again for our terrific take-off. They brought history to life with an exciting performance, and we even got to join in! Together, we acted out the events of the fire, from the bustling streets of London to the frantic efforts to put out the flames. Some of us pretended to be bakers, others were busy carrying buckets of water. It was so much fun, and it helped us picture what happened during the fire and understand what people experienced during those dramatic days.
