What an incredible year we’ve had together in Year 1! I couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of you. From the very first day, you have all amazed me with your kindness, your curiosity, and your brilliant sense of fun. We’ve shared so many laughs and special memories...

At Marwell Zoo, we saw all sorts of fascinating animals and learned so much about how they live. 

Our trip to the Wetlands Centre was full of exploring and learning about nature. You were all brilliant Guardians of the wild.

Then there was our sunny beach trip – what a fantastic day! Building sandcastles, holding crabs, and searching for seashells – it was such a perfect way to enjoy the summer.

And who could forget all our visits from the Rainbow Theatre this year? You all took part so confidently and creatively – it was such a joy to see you bring the stories to life!

One of the highlights of the year was creating our very own dance to “Unwritten”. You put your hearts into every step, and it turned into something truly special. If you’d like to watch it again (or show it off to your families!), you can watch it here!

Every single day in the classroom has been a joy too – from learning new sounds and numbers, to reading new stories, solving puzzles, and working together. You've made me smile and laugh every single day, and I am so proud of how much you’ve all grown.

Thank you for a magical year, Hawthorn class. Keep being brilliant, keep being kind, and most of all – keep being YOU. You are going to shine so brightly in Year 2.
