Nyewood CE Infant School
Smiling, Caring and Learning Together on a Journey with God
Another busy half-term
What a great half-term it has been. The children have amazed me with their learning and their independence.
In gymnastics, the children have learnt gymnastic moves and worked out how to put 2 or 3 together as a sequence.
In RE, we have learnt about the Christmas story and other stories in the Bible. We have discussed the hidden meaning of each story, like The Good Samaritan. For Christmas, we learnt about the Advent Wreath and what the different candles mean and when they are lit.
In maths, we have learnt to recognise numbers, know what numbers mean and where they come. We have also learnt about repeating patterns and what shape or colour comes next.
In Science, we have learnt about materials, the names of materials and their properties. We designed Santa's sack and discussed which would be a good material and what wouldn't be a good material.
I would like to say thank you to each and every one of you for your support and dedication for this term. I have loved getting to know all of you and I will miss you all. Your children are truly amazing and I have loved teaching them. Have a wonderful Christmas and I know you will all be in good hands with Miss Smith in January.
