Nyewood CE Infant School
Smiling, Caring and Learning Together on a Journey with God
Autumn 2
We have had a busy and exciting half term...
One of our favourite events this half term was when 'Skip2Bfit' came to visit our school, which you can see in the picture. The skipping instructor was called David and he taught us how to skip. We then used special skipping ropes to count how many skips we could do in 2 minutes. Some of us were very competitive! We all tried really hard to beat our own scores and to get a personal best.
We have also enjoyed lots of fun and exciting Christmas events this half term, such as a visit from the Rainbow Theatre. We loved watching a live performance and some of us got to join in with the acting too.
A big well done to the children in Sycamore for being part of our Carol Service at St Wilfird's Church. The children sang beautifully, and we had some great acting and reading of lines from the Christmas Story too.
We are currently still in the season of Advent and we are enjoying counting down the days until Christmas Day, the day that Jesus was born. In class, we have a Christmas book wrapped up in Christmas wrapping paper and each day we take it in turns to open one and share with the class. We have loved listening to the different Christmas stories so far and are looking forward to what is yet to come!
As we approach the Christmas holidays, all the staff in Sycamore Class would like to wish all our families a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. A reminder that the school is closed on Monday 5th January, therefore we look forward to seeing you back in school on Tuesday 6th January.
