Smiling, Caring and Learning Together on a Journey with God

Day 2

Hi Everyone,

We hope you are keeping safe and well. Please find some learning tasks for day 2.

Day 2:

Reading: Use the characters you created yesterday to retell the story in your own words. How many are there in your story? What they like? I wonder what kind of voice they might use when they are speaking?

Writing: We wish we could be part of your story telling, but we know your grown ups would love to hear your story too. Can you write an invitation to for your grown up to come and watch your story? Who will your invitation be to? How many people will you invite?

Mathematics: We would like you to continue ordering the number tiles? Can you get further than yesterday? How many more numbers can you order? Which numbers can you name? Can you find 1 more or 1 less than a number your grown calls out?

Other Area of Learning: Can you use junk materials from your recycling to create a model of a setting from your story. What will you make? What will you use? How will you fix it together? How could you decorate it?

Don't forget to keep active. Here is an alternative wake up, shake up for you to try.

Well done for making an excellent start with your home learning. Don't forget to tell your grown ups about some of the free websites you can access during this time. Phonics Play being one you will be familiar with already. It's great for helping you to practise your letter recognition, blending skills and reading of owl words. Don't forget to tell your grown ups all about rabbit, owl and alien words!

We will be in touch soon.

Take care everyone.

P.S Quick reminder for grown ups.

Owl words - words that cannot be sounded out - e.g. the, they, was, said.

Rabbit words - words that can be sounded out and blending to make a real word.
