  • Happy Easter

    Published 28/03/24, by Jo Macrae

Our final week of our second term has flown past.

The adults have been seeing how we are doing with our phonics, and they are all really pleased with everyone's progress. Our writing is also amazing, lots of us remember to use finger spaces now without needing to be reminded.

Thank you to everyone who came to Church for our Easter service despite the wet weather. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

We hope you have a relaxing Easter break and look forward to seeing you in the summer term, when hopefully it will be a bit warmer!

  • Spring

    Published 22/03/24, by Jo Macrae

This week we have been thinking about Easter and spring.

We have been learning about the Easter story and why we celebrate Easter.

In our music session we had great fun copying a rhythm on the chime bars, some of us found this quite a challenge.

We managed a dry session in the woodland and noticed lots of new signs of spring. We were watched the whole time by two robins that sang for us.

On Friday, we came to school with our Easter bonnets, and we paraded them during assembly. We had some fantastic creations.

In maths, we have been doing more adding and we are getting really confident writing number calculations.

  • World Book Day

    Published 08/03/24, by Jo Macrae

We all looked amazing on World Book Day and could talk about who we were.

We have also been learning about the story of the Three Little Pigs. We have been acting it out, building houses and writing parts of the story. The adults are really pleased with our writing and how we are forming our letters.

In maths, we have been learning about + sign, and the words we can use for it. We have been solving calculations using our fingers, cubes and Numicon.

Our tadpoles have been hatching over this week and we are loving watching them develop.
