Smiling, Caring and Learning Together on a Journey with God
We have had a great week, starting our topic of 'Our Wonderful World'.
On Monday we had a visit from Neal Layton the illustrator of Stanley's Stick. He read us some stories and showed us all the different media he uses to create his images. Did you know he has illustrated over 60 books! WOW!
Following on from our special visitor we read Stanley's Stick and have been using our oracy skills to retell the story. Stanley uses his stick for all sorts of things, even a saxophone! So we decided to turn sticks into new things too... we made fishing rods, wands and even crocodiles!
In maths we have been learning about place value, thinking about how many tens and ones are in a number. We used dienes to help us with this.
On Wednesday it was a really exciting day because it was Woodland Wednesday! We went into the conservation area and had so much fun. We made mud pies, dens with tarpaulin, painted pictures with mud and used magnifying glasses to find different creatures.
Just a little reminder that our Harvest service at St Wilfrids Church is coming up and we would love to see as many of you as possible!
