Smiling, Caring and Learning Together on a Journey with God
Rememberance and Rangoli
We have had a busy but fun filled week in Hazel class this week.
On Tuesday afternoon we had our Expressive Art and Design afternoon. We had fun partaking in lots of different artistic activities. This included making collage poppies, sock puppets, lego printing and we even learnt a simple running stitch to make a rainbow.
We learnt about the Hindu festival of Diwali and loved looking at the different rangoli patterns. They had lots of cool shapes and bright colours and we recognised that they were symmetrical. We used chalk outside on the playground to try and create our own.
On Wednesday we had a special worship with Miss Wells, where we thought about all the special people that worked hard for us in the war. We talked about why we are thankful to them and why a poppy helps us to remember them. At 11Am we all took part in a 2 minutes silence.
We are really looking forward to sharing our crazy hairstyles and hats with each other tomorrow, to celebrate children in need!
