We finished the week with a visit from the Fire Service. They taught us how to keep safe when at home and out and about. We learnt some important rhymes:

Matches, lighter, never touch. They can hurt us very much.

    Stop, drop and roll.

Get out, stay out, call 999.

Please ask us when we use these phrases.

In maths, we have been thinking about turns and directions. We have looked at quarter, half and three quater turns, both clockwise and anticlockwise, and which is our left and right. We had fun giving each other directions and did some of our maths outside.

We have enjoyed playing Hit the Button, practising making 10 and 100.

In PE this term we are using the large equipment. We have to get out the tables, benches and mats safely using the correct procedure. This week we just explored using the equipment, ready for learning more next week.

In writing we have started learning about giraffes. As we will be using non-fiction books, we have been learning the correct words to describe the parts of the book. We learnt about contents pages, paragraphs, captions and many other features. Maybe we could show you them in a book at home.

We had an amazing time in the woodland on Wednesday. We made seed bombs and cooked bread on the fire.

In maths we have been learning to divide. We use our counting in 2s, 5s, and 10s (which we call skip counting), and realised we were really good at this. We challenged ourselves using Hit the Button game, which you can play using the link below.

We have also been practising our number facts, so we can add small numbers in our head. The game below has been helping us with that.

    Post Sorting

In our writing we have been writing our own diary entry for the Great Fire of London. We have been trying to use command and questions with the correct punctuation.
