  • Fire Engine!

    This week we have been learning about fireworks and how to keep safe.  From this, the children decided to make a class fire engine. They have had a great time in the different roles of fire officers. 

    In Phonics this week we have been learning the sounds, ff, ll,ss and j. We have started to sound and blend words with these sounds; huff, puff, hill, tell, mess, hiss, jug and jam. 

    In Maths this week we have been learning about repeating patterns. We have been doing a two-step pattern, for example, circle, triangle, circle, triangle, or clap, bang, clap, bang. 

    A reminder that Monday is our Muddy Monday and Woodland Wednesday. Please bring in outdoor clothes.

  • The Rainbow Fish

    We have been reading the story of The Rainbow Fish. We retold the story using different props, we made a big collage of the Rainbow Fish and individual fishes. We spoke about the importance of sharing and being kind.

    This week in Phonics, we have been continuing to learn the sounds; s,a,t,i,p,n and learning new ones; g,o,c,k. See if your child can remember them at home. 

    In Maths, this week we have been counting from 0 to 5, focusing on moving objects as we count. 

    Thank you so much for all the adults who came in for our reading morning on Tuesday. On Tuesday 3rd it will be Maths morning from 9- 9.10. If you are available it would be lovely to see you.

  • The Three Little Pigs

    We have had an amazing week. I feel so proud of all of them for how well they are  settling in. 

    We have been learning about the story, The Three Little Pigs by re-telling the story using puppets, props and books. 

    In Phonics this week we have been learning the sounds i,n,m and d. What objects begin with that sound and starting to orally blend cvc words like 'sat, mat, nap'

    In Maths this week we have been learning to recognise and count numbers to 5.

  • Amazing week!

    Holly Class family have had an amazing week. They are settling in really well. Making lots of new friends and getting to know each other's names. 

    We have started phonics this week. So far we have been learning the sounds s, a , t, p. Maybe at home ask your child if they can find objects that begin with these sounds. 

    We have been singing lots of number songs and rhymes.
