Smiling, Caring and Learning Together on a Journey with God
Mrs Mouland, Miss Hadaway and Miss Trent
Here is the daily news from the adults at Nyewood! Read on to find out what they have been up to.
Miss Hadaway: Hello, I hope you are enjoying your Easter holidays and that you are all safe and well .
I have been busy gardening , doing lots of digging and getting all the weeds up. I have also been taking my cheeky dogs for one, long walk a day. I have two dogs, Nahla who is brown and white and Tank, who is black and very cheeky. We are enjoying the sunshine and the dogs get on my lounger and try and sunbathe with me. They are very cheeky!
At school, the children have painted one of the sheds, in lovely bright colours, which I think you will all like. I hope you are having fun learning and playing.
I miss you all and hopefully we will be together again soon.
Mrs Mouland says:
Hello wonderful children!
I am missing you all very much and think about you often. Even though life is a bit different at the moment, I am finding plenty to keep me busy. I have another role at the moment as an NHS Volunteer. This means that there is a list of people that the doctors think might need some help while they are stuck at home. My job is to phone these people and see if they would like a chat and check if there is anything else they need. There are thousands of volunteers like me all over the country. Now is the perfect time to show acts of kindness to others; what could you do to make someone smile? Make a card, drawing, or write a letter?
I have been keeping myself safe at home like all of you. Some days I go into school to do some jobs, but I am mainly spending time at home on tasks like display boards for school; look out for the one of the world when you're back. I have also been preparing some things for the Rainbow Room, and working on activities for my Well-Being Club. I have also been doing a lots of baking, painting furniture, playing football in the garden with my children, bike rides (for my daily exercise), watching movies, and I've also started a new online course.
I practise my mindful breathing each day to keep myself calm and relaxed. You can do this too by lying down with a teddy on your tummy; as you breathe in through your nose watch the teddy rise up, then breathe out through your mouth and watch the teddy sink down...then repeat. If you keep practising, you'll feel the benefits.
I'll leave you with a little joke:
What do you call cheese that's not yours? Nacho cheese! 🤣
Take care. Lots of love,
Mrs Mouland xxx
Miss Trent says:
I hope you and your families are safe and well.
I've been working from home and homeschooling my children (it's much more fun in class with you) .
It's been a little strange but on the plus side it's been beautifully sunny so I've been able to spend time in the garden with my children, puppy and relaxing in my hot tub.
I've been enjoying video calls from friends and family and even played a few quizzes and games against them.
We've baked cookies, chocolate fudge cake , brownies and my favourite yummy lemon drizzle cake.
As you know I love art so I have also been drawing as much as possible. Some of my pictures have been put in hospitals to make people smile :)
I decided that I needed a challenge so I have been learning British Sign Language. I will show you how to sign your name when we are back at school. Maybe you could learn some and show me?
Keep having fun with your home learning and activities.
I hope you all had a fantastic Easter.
I miss you all and can't wait for our Nyewood Family to be together again soon.
Take care, stay safe and keep smiling.
Miss Trent x
