Writing

We need your help today! We have found these pieces of writing but we need you to help us edit and correct them as we don’t think some of the spellings are right and we don’t think all the correct punctuation has been used! Are the capital letters in the right places? Do any of the sentences need question marks or exclamation marks? Choose which challenge you would like to tackle and help us make them perfect by writing out the sentences again!

Blue challenge:

the cat hab a little hat

it woz a hot day and the dog wos hot.

Yellow challenge:

I went to the seaside and  I saw a crab

where hav you been

Red challenge:

on a beautifull, sunny day on bognor, free friends went for a walk. They walkt and walkt until they finally maid it to the beech. They steped onto the dry, warm sand and runned to the edge of the see. They splashed in the cool, shallow warter untill there grown-ups called them back. It was such a fun day

Reading

Today we are going to continue with the Super Six strategy, Visualising.

Ask your adults nicely to read you the story again. Use the characters and the settings you have made to act out the story as it is being read to you.

When you have finished you can look at the book! Did your visualising match the story you have been read?

What is similar and different about the characters you have designed to the characters to the story?

What is similar and different about the setting you have designed to the setting to the story?

Is there any description you would change in the text to make visualising easier?

Is there anything you would change on your models?

Remember it is ok that we all might visualise differently! That is where our imagination comes from!

Mathematics:

Problem solving: We are going to be using our adding skills to solve problems about money.

Blue- Bob has some coins in his pocket. They add up to 20p. What coins could he have in his pocket? How many different ways can you make 20p?

Yellow- Bob has some coins in his pocket. They add up to 50p. What coins could he have in his pocket? How many different ways can you make 50p?

Red- Bob has some coins in his pocket. They add up to £1. What coins could he have in his pocket? How many different ways can you make £1?

Extra challenge: Can you make that amount with only even coins?

Topic

Make you own goal!

Use an empty cereal box or similar type of box.

Ask a grown up to cut out a goal shaped piece from the front.  You can use your goal width or length ways.

Using the balls that you created in week 1/session 1, place it on the floor a short distance away from your goal.

See if you can flick your paper ball into your goal. Score 1 point for each goal scored.

You can put the paper ball nearer or further away from your goal to make it easier or harder. You could place the ball to the sides so you can try and score from different angles too.

As you get more accurate, you can try from even further away and more difficult angles.

Daily fitness challenge:

How many frog jumps can you do in 30 seconds? Now do it again, can you beat your time?

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy half term week!
