Smiling, Caring and Learning Together on a Journey with God
Story writing, song writing and peaceful art...
In Sycamore Class this week we have been trying hard to find peaceful moments in our daily life. Read on to find out how we have been getting on.
In writing this week we had great fun writing a story based on Q Pootle 5 by Nick Butterworth. We included lots of story language and ideas of our own which we planned carefully. We used our Owl words to improve our writing and read our work carefully to check for mistakes. Some of us started using our purple polishing pens to edit our work and make improvements.
In mathematics we continued to work hard on division and multiplication, reading word problems and solving them, using grouping and sharing. Lots of us found out that if you are multiplying, the numbers can go in any order.
In our curriculum time this week we designed parachutes ready to be made and tested next week at our Fantastic Finish. We also practised a song about space (follow this link to sing "Apollo Journey" at home https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p07ds17y) and then composed our own new class song! We even recorded our singing using the ipad!
We have another busy week next week to finish the half term:
Monday- EAD afternoon (Year 1 parents attending)
Tuesday- Safer Internet Day and Parent Consultations
Wednesday- Woodland Wednesday (please bring suitable outdoor clothes and shoes)
Thursday- Fantastic Finish
Friday- Sponsored Bounce
